History background of Persia

the country Historically is known as Persia by western world; the old Persian Empire existed as the most powerful and complex empires of the ancient world.

The Persian empire was periodically occupied, first by Alexander the Great, then by the Parthians, later ruled by the Hellenistic Seleucid Empire and finally by Sassanid empire could find the lost Persian power once gain.

Persian empire was land of civilization, mythology, history, art, architecture, the land of the 3 Magi, beauties.

Famous biblical figures purported to be buried in Persia include Esther, Daniel, Cyrus the Great, Darius the Great, and St. Thaddaeus.

During last 14 centuries of Islamic history in Iran we had different events, as we have the rise of Turkish dynasties, including the Seljuqs and Ghaznavids, the Monogl and Timurid invasions, the re-establishment of order by the Safavids, Western domination during the Qajar period and finally the foundation of modern Persia, culminating in the social upheaval that led to the Islamic Revolution which turned Iran into Republic.
